Wifi
Wifi manages the format of WLAN (Wireless Local Network) and was initially started in Hawaii in 1970 as ALOHAnet, with low-budget ham-like radios. the project was freezed, but it gained again popularity in the 2000´s, being now the most used LAN format. Its now the trademark “WiFi” and it haves quality standar. And it now uses satellites and Triangulation to coordinate the exact point of signal.
It uses routers(A device that enroutes information from one font to another) that are connected to 3G antennas with wires, and the routers are connected to WLAN antennas that transmit their waves to the surroundings, the wifi, making a kind of a bubble of Waves.0.
Wifi can be described as a energy camp that travels in the form of a wave. this haves are shorter than the radio waves but bigger than the waves of a microwave. it can not be interrupted by other signals. The WiFi signal breaks through walls, but loses strength. it doesn't get the metal such as aluminium,. there are special machines that can detect this wifi signals and some devices that can disable the ability of wifi waves to reach a certain place. wifi routers attached to buildings create something similar to a data camp that circulates around them, they have an omnidirectional signal. their power is around 100 miliwats to the more professional 1000 miliwats of power, this of course affects how far you can be from the router and still get connection. usb wifi has 1000 mw of power. for 2 devices can connect with each other they have to have around the same amount of power, a device with small amount of power can detect one that has more power but the one with more power cannot detect the one with less power. an example could be if you are on one side of your neighborhood and you use a megaphone to speak the people at the other side can hear you but if they talk you probably would not hear them. so if a device has less power it has to be closer to the one with more power for it to hear you. wifi has a lot of types of frequencies that adapt better to different places, for example if you live in a place with a lot of walls the 2.4 gigahertz frequencies is better for your router because it bounces off the walls and can penetrate doors. The faster connections are the ones that don't have anything between them and the router and also the closest ones. wifi´s radiofrequency is the highest possible and that is actually dangerous because it dsiturbs melatonin levels in the body so you get less sleep its good to turn your wifi off when you are not using it.
The 5.8 gigahertz of power is smaller, it is used in cellphones, it has less power to pass through doors but it has less interference. the 2.4 gigahertz of power has 14 available channels to avoid interference, they work like servers, if your wifi is slow it means that there are a lot of people around you using the same channel and you have to change it. there are a lot of ways you can avoid people from using your wifi. because it has a system called wpa2 that you can use to code your router.cell phones have 100 milliwatts of power so they can't detect as many wifi signals as more powerful and bigger devices.
devices that can use wifi are a lot, like computers, tablets and mobile phones that have this function.
aside from connecting to the internet wifi also has many uses like turning your smartphone into a tv control, send documents to your printer, share files, use email, and sync your music.
